  • FREE SPOOKY PRINTABLE COLORING SHEETS | Florence SC fine artist

We love celebrating over here, and I love something that keeps the little ladies entertained while I am working so we spend a lot of time both drawing and coloring.  I made some coloring sheets today to keep the girls entertained while I try to put the house back in order after a crazy week of launching my first collection and I thought other moms with little ones might enjoy them as well! Feel free to print them out and color away!

If you do end up using them I would LOVE it if you would tag @morganatkinsonfineart on IG in your feed or your stories so I can see your kiddos creations!

  • Practical tips for keeping your little ones busy while you work // Florence SC Visual Artist

Let me just start this post by saying that working at home with my kids around is no doubt the hardest thing I have ever done. It is taxing in a way that I never imagined. The constant pulling of my attention from a place of creativity and productivity to suddenly switching gears to manage little people’s emotions is the most intense rollercoaster ride I have ever been on and it WIPES ME OUT.

if from the outside this ever appears to look “easy” in any way to you I want to clarify right here once and for all that it is NEVER easy. Beautiful? Absolutely. Fun? No doubt. A disaster at times? FOR SURE. Super rewarding? 100%. But easy? No. Not ever. Not even one day has it ever been “easy”.

The number one question i get from fellow mamas when they learn what i do and that i do it with three littles at home is, “okay but how?” 😂 so today I’m highlighting 3 principals I use when structuring my workday around 3 little people’s schedules and needs.

  • Baby Boy Atkinson // 33 weeks update

To say this pregnancy has been a blur would be an understatement.  It has been, simply put, EVERYTHING.  Slow and quick,  Hard and simple, Painful and peace filled, defeating and up lifting.  It's been a rollercoaster in every sense of the word and I am just so thrilled to finally be nearing the end of this journey.  We officially have around 5 or 6 weeks until this baby arrives and I've got a ton of work to get done in that time.  There's an entire nursery that needs my attention, some prints and products I need to crank out to have ready for a super special launch next month, and so many snuggles and cuddles to give to my girls while it's just the three of us all day each day.
  • When is the best time to have my child’s silhouette made? || Morgan Atkinson Fine Art custom silhouette art

Oh man. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve been asked this question, I’d never have to sell any silhouettes because your girl would be LOADED!

Since this is SUCH a popular question I figured now would be a great time to answer it in a blog post. So if you’re in the midst of trying to decide if you should get your child’s custom silhouette art done right now or later, read on! I’ll give you my best advice for it!

  • A simple reminder // Statement Silhouette Locket

I wake up in the morning and hurriedly throw on clothes all while being pulled by my two girls to the kitchen, “hungry mama! Hungry!” I whip together something to appease them and I head back to finish getting dressed. Hair mostly in a mom bun, the bare minimum makeup (my go to eye shadow color is whatever is left on my brush from the day before), and lastly I put on my locket.⠀

It’s weight is light but the reminder it brings is heavy. I go to start a load of laundry and as I reach to throw the pile of dirty clothes in it pings against my washer. That little ping of metal against metal, a simple reminder of who I’m washing clothes for.
