If you had asked me while pregnant with my first daughter if I ever saw myself making art a career I would have laughed.  My husband and I were professional photographers/cinematographers for most of our pre-kids married life and I really thought that I would be doing that forever.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ART.  I just never imagined anyone caring enough about the things that I had drawn, or painted, or dreamed up to turn it into a source of income for my family.  

After the birth of our second daughter It became pretty clear that I wasn't going to be able to pour myself into my photography business like I wanted to with both of these girls to care for.  I wanted something that kept me home with them each day but I'm also just so not the type that can stay home and do nothing. I NEEDED an outlet and well... here we are.  

Now, I can't imagine my life any other way.  It is such a gift to work from a small little studio off the back of our home while these two girls play at my feet each day.  Of course it comes with its own challenges (any of you around for the red paint incident??) but I couldn't picture myself in any other career.   This is our rhythm.  A hectic and wild and loud rhythm, but it's the beat that keeps our hearts in sync. And, if you listen close enough, it starts humming the most beautiful song.
